Friday 6th June
The Brecon Mountain Railway via The Bwlch and Rhigos mountain passes
followed by a visit to Cyfartha Castle

We are hauled by No.2 which was built by Baldwin of Philadelphia, USA in 1930, (No. 61269) for the Eastern Province Cement Co. Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Shipped back to the UK as deck cargo to Liverpool, rebuilt here between 1993 and 1997 this 4-6-2 tender locomotive weighs 47 tons and is capable of hauling the heaviest trains to Torpantau.

In the afternoon we visit Cyfarthfa Castle which is the former home of the Crawshay family, historical ironmasters of Cyfarthfa Ironworks

Despite appearing to be a fortified building it is a house built in the style of a large mansion. The castle stands in 158-acre (0.64 km2) of parkland.

Saturday 7th June
Visit to Swansea with various visits to the museums, Dylan Thomas centre and the famous Swansea market. Followed by a visit to the Gower Heritage centre and a guided tour of the Gower Peninsular
